3 Best Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day Quarantine Style!

We all dreaded this happening but yes, Mother’s Day this year will be under quarantine! Us Mothers however, will not let the day go to waste. “Oh no Hunny!” We did not put those big-headed babies out for nothing! We need all of the day’s acknowledgements!

Below are 3 best ways you and your family can do to celebrate Mother’s Day, still enjoy and get the most out of OUR day!!

1. Photoshoots!

I’m sure some of you will finally get out of those comfortable PJs, put on a little makeup, beautify yourself, and get the day started. This is the perfect time to flick it up (even if you wanted to stay comfortable in those PJs lol). Listen all you really need is your phone.

You can go into your phone settings and chose the best quality for your pictures which are usually around 1080p or 4k for the newest iPhones.

My son and I take pictures very often and he’s much better at it than me actually lol. I found us matching tops at Target, got ‘in my bag’ a little, went out in the yard, and just had fun with it!

I have a remote to my DSLR camera that’ll allow me to get the shots on my own however if you don’t have one there are built in timers in your phone to do so as well.

2. Video Calls

Because most of us are still social distancing, this is a great way to enjoy the day with your loved ones while still turning up in the comforts (and safety) of your own home!

The great thing about online video calling like Google Duo and FaceTime, you can have multiple people online all at once.

3. Helping Hands with Dinner!

Another great way to celebrate Mother’s Day is to finally let the kids help with dinner. I mean this is for the Mommas out there (proudly raises hand) who don’t have the luxury of having a significant other to quarantine with to help us with this one.

If that woman is you then by all means put your feet up girl and enjoy the pampering! All us other women, it would be nice to have little helping hands to make the day more enjoyable. I have a 3 year old so he can only help but so much but if he enjoys it, I am too.

Remember it is OUR day and we’re going to make sure everyone knows!

Although we’re not able to go out to our favorite restaurants or take that perfect weekend getaway, there are still plenty of fun ways to enjoy your Mother’s Day. Let those creative juices flow and remember the real gift is having that beautiful family!

We are all stuck at home but from the looks of it, it will still be a beautiful day! I’m personally thankful for the opportunity to be the best Mother I can be and I cherish that responsibility everyday especially during this pandemic. Just being here on this Earth and healthy is a gift.

I hope you all enjoy your day to the fullest, Mother’s are so important, we’re all superheroes! Happy Mother’s Day!

Born and raised on Pittsburgh’s Northside of town! I went to all public schools until I got accepted to the University of Pittsburgh main campus (Hail to Pitt!). I graduated with a dual degree in both Psychology and Sociology with a Sociological Thematic Cluster Certificate in Race, Gender and Sexuality. I worked in the mental health field for about 6 years, became a Mommy, and later left my career job to become an entrepreneur!
