The Secrets of Being a Mother!

The secret of being a mother means more than just giving birth to a child. It is about pouring into your child. At 9:42pm on November 3rd 2016 I officially became a mother to the best little boy I could’ve ever imagined.

I am a lot of things however being a mother is one of my greatest titles I possess

and unfortunately everyone doesn’t get to hold this which is why I am thankful. Bringing life into the world and having the pleasure of watching them flourish throughout the years as they begin to learn themselves. Take a look at his birth story below!

The Beginning of Bryce

When I found out I was pregnant the first time around, man was I so excited yet pretty nervous as I knew my life had now changed forever. That first time reading the positive test results I walked with purpose that I am now a mother. I then soon found out I was having a little boy! Let’s repeat that, I was going to be a mother to a little boy!

You’ll spend Many Hours Dreaming and Fantasizing of Your Child.

So many days throughout that pregnancy I imagined what he would look like. What he would be like? Would I be a good mother to him? Then I got to finally meet the little person behind the kicking and keeping me up many of those sleepless nights and the moment was magical!

Now I am pregnant with my second child, my daughter and I am beyond excited to share my love with another little being! I’ve had a few dreams of how our relationship will be and every little kick I’m back to this moment. Yes there is a new nervousness of being a mother of two however it’s something when the children are yours that makes everything ok.

There are many times of Struggle.

Another secret of being a mother is knowing there are not always going to be happy times; motherhood can be tough and emotional. There are times I may be winging it and other days I may not be emotional stable enough to handle the little tantrums. You may even find yourself not handling the situation efficiently however just know there will be days like that, and you will get through.

My little boy is three now and is very aware and observant. Say I may lose my cool however just looking at his little face will bring me back. I believe my previous career has helped me tremendously with dealing with children especially in tricky situations.

Children are Their Own Person.

I believe a lot of people forget children are their own human beings and need to make choices for themselves without the pressures of parents’ disapproval. As Bryce and even my newest little one brewing, gets older I want them to have the freedom of independence I don’t want to see them as just my son, but as Bryce and who he is as a person.

How I choose to raise my child reflects on my own values. My son is so smart and oh so respectful. From an early age I was encouraging him to say his “please and thank you’s”. We read lots of books and he began to possess a larger vocabulary. The bond we have is truly remarkable.

There are Various Types of Mothers.

A great secret to know about mothers is they’re not just biological! Some people unfortunately don’t get the chance to bare children biologically which we have to recognize our blessings and provide that support they are not alone. There are many types of mothers other than biological. Some women are fortunate enough to have children through marriage taking that role as stepmom. Some also choose to go the adoption route which not only helps them but the child as well; they are able to share a different kind of bond of needing each other.

Being a Mother is what I model.

Although I am many things, motherhood is what I try to model as I grow through life myself. Now you can still be your unique self, you can still enjoy twerking to your favorite song or even sharing those romantic moments with your spouse.

Those things are all part of you but when it’s time to be that model, stand in your power and do as you speak into your little ones. They are looking and observing how you handle things, how you handle certain situation even your mannerisms. Know that you are not going to be right all the time and learn to be able to apologize to your little ones when wrong

“When you plant seeds, they’ll produce great things” When you take the time to uplift and breathe power and life into your little ones, they will grow up to do the same thing into others and become amazing!
